This stoneware panel has been made from a black stonware clay. It has been decorated using coloured porcelain slips and a small highlight of gold leaf. Most panels are multi-fired. It requires a narrow screw or nail to hang it on a wall. The panel appears to float forward of a wall due to it overhanging the back. This creates a subtle shadow against a single painted wall. The hole is situated on the reverse just above the carved makers name on the reverse. Inspiration for this work comes from drawings and photographs taken of old buildings in the town of Pollenca, Majorca. Work is also available from The Pyramid Gallery , York and The Monpellier Gallery, Stratford upon Avon as well as leading auction houses. Please contact the gallery for further details.
