A  hand built slab vessel.  This piece has been made from a black stoneware clay body with layers of porclain slips and underglaze colours. Highlights of a clear glaze have also been added in small areas.  Inspiration is drawn from a visit to Orvietto Cathedral in Italy. The texture resembling the aged plaster work on the walls of buildings in some of the narrow streets.
